SOLD 05/2023! True Hofner-style Japanese lawsuit basses are pretty hard-to-find. They usually have some design quirk that makes them just another pretender but this one really comes darn close to the original. Of course, it has a bolt-on neck but is pretty authentic in all other aspects. It's got a laminated maple body with a spruce top that's finished in mocha brown with a bound body and single f-hole. The 2 staple pickups are really loud with a good range of tone and the neck is set just right. It's about as low as it can go without a shim but I'm leaving well enough alone, knowing fully well that the neck can be shimmed to allow for an even lower action as well as enhancing saddle height flexibility. There is very little fret wear and all the electronics function 100%. It's missing the pickguard but replacements are plentiful. Weighs just 6 1/2 lbs and comes with a premium Roadrunner gig bag that protects the bass well.
