ON HOLD 01/23! This is one of my all-time favorite basses but because I just 'discovered' it in my Secret Stash after 15 years I'm letting it go. Make no mistake, it's a super-rare bass and used to be a perfect compliment to my own MC-924 active 1978 Musician. But I sold that one last year so I figured what the heck, let someone else enjoy it. I personally hand-picked this one even before I opened a store in 1993 and it hasn't lost its luster over time. It has the nicely-figured Japanese ash body winds and a 3-piece maple neck (with spacers) through the body.  You can see the headstock is gigantic but the 2nd gen Velvetune tuners keep it well-balanced. This one weighs only 9 3/4 lbs; compare that to some Musicians that tip the scales at around 12 lbs! The single brown bakelite pickup is in the sweet spot and has exposed pole pieces for a very forward tone. I always preferred this particular bass hands down over my active Musicians. I've even got the original brown Ibanez case with green lining (missing the handle).
