SOLD 06/2020! This is one of the last of the original run to be made in Germany and it's one of the best-playing McCartney basses I have ever had come through the store! The bass is in true near-mint condition with tobacco sunburst finish and a solid spruce top. The back is maple and the side are nicely FLAMED maple. This one has a perfect neck angle and the neck is nice & straight with extra-clean frets. The blade pickups are well-balanced and the electronics are clean and quiet. The single tuners are a vast improvement over the strip tuners found on earlier models. FOr my money I would rather a Hofner that actually PLAYS versus one that will just gather dust in its case, By the way, this one comes with the cool & rare molded case that was ONLY made in 1968.
