SOLD 07/22! When I say 'transition model' I mean Gibson came to their senses and moved the big pickup about 2: down from the base of the fretboard. It truly opened up a world of more useable tones and also made it a lot more playable. This one also has a smaller volute than the gigantic door stop you'll find on a lot of EB basses from this era. That also adds to player comfort while still maintaining headstock stability. We know all about that and this headstock is 100% solid and original. Everything on the bass is original and works beautifully. The neck is set at a perfect angle and there is very little fret wear. Oh. it's got a 34" scale. The tuners are Gibson-branded Schaller M4 which keeps headstock weight way down vs the jumbo Grovers on most of these 70's ones. The cherry finish is clean with a few scuffs & some player wear and one chip on the back of the headstock. The top has darkened a bit but the back reveals a fine one-piece mahogany body. A lot of these are total duds but this is a lively bass with versatile tone and great weight & playability. Includes the original yellow-lined Gibson logo hard case.
