The RB-800 was the last of the Roadstar series which would soon morph into the SR line. It's made in Japan and the quality is evident throughout. It just has a level of construction that you would not expect to find in a $350 bass. Finished entirely in gloss black and featuring Ibanez' trademark heavy-duty Black Chrome hardware, the bass feels solid & responsive. It has an active AFR P/J pickup configuration with 2 volumes, bass & treble controls and a 9-volt preamp. The bolt-on maple neck has a rosewood fretboard with 24 frets and an unbelievably slim neck profile; kind of like a Jazz Bass on a diet. It certainly is one of the fastest necks I have ever played. Weighs just under 9 lbs and includes the original Ibanez logo rectangular tolex hard case.
