SOLD 09/22/2018! This is a well-played bass, that's for sure. It's got a slightly inset Badass I bridge, Gotoh tuners and an 8" repaired crack down by the controls. But it's one of the nicest sounding and fluid-feeling EB-3 basses from this era that I have ever played. And yes, that really is a factory black finish over the mahogany body and neck. Boy, if this thing were all-original it would easily be a $3500+ bass. But it's not, so get over it.
What this bass lacks in mintiness it more than makes up from a player's standpoint. Hey, the bass is still rare it's just been around the block a bit. I mentioned the changed parts and the repair already but this bass is still a player's dream. The headstock is totally intact and original (never broken or repaired) and the frets are original and very dean. The neck joint is perfect and the truss rod still works. The action is low and if you are willing to notch the saddles, can easily go up to 3/32" lower. The pickups, electronics and knobs are original and in perfect working order. The bass only weighs 8 lbs which is another plus. Includes the original soft-shell case that's actually made specifically for the long scale slot-head model.
