SOLD 11/2021! This is a fantastic bass and is one of the last years for the 'good' USA models. This bass is in pristine condition with a black finish that reflects like a mirror. The maple neck has beautiful figure and a nice Brazilian rosewood fretboard. Most of these had alder bodies but underneath the black finish I can detect the grain of ash. Still the bass weighs 10 1/2 lbs so it must be northern ash. It's got ridiculous tone and the neck is perfect. The pepperoni 62 Reissue pickguard may actually be original because this is from the era that a LOT of these were assembled in 1982. In any case, it is a collector grade bass that happens to play and sound really nice. Comes with non-Fender tolex case which is correct for the period.
