SOLD 11/19! A rare find! It's a true one-owner bass that's in fabulous condition. On top of that, it is 99.5% complete and original including both covers and the original gig bag. One of the felt mutes has been replaced so that's the .5 percent that is not original. The cherry finish is bright and bold with absolutely no fading or finish checking. The pickguard lies flat with no undue shrinkage. The pots date the 39th week of 1964. The frets are super-clean and the Brazilian rosewood slab fretboard is rich and vibrant. There is absolutely no issue with the neck/headstock area and as you all know, that is usually a point of contention on thee basses. As you can see, there are (2) added vinyl strips on the back. These were put on by the owner soon after the bass was purchased to help reduce 'neck dive' from using a very thin guitar strap. They can be removed with a hair dryer but there will be a slight footprint in the finish; the original color will be retained. I would just leave well enough alone because it's part of the history of the bass! This is a great player and it's hard to say yhat about a lot of Embassy basses.
