SOLD 01/2022! Yes, there was a time when US Masters basses were actually Made in USA! This is a very early model with a totally hand-made look and feel. The body is solid straight-grained shedua and it's one of the ultimate tone woods known for focus and sustain. The bolt on neck is beautiful birdseye maple with a smooth oil finish and a rosewood fretboard with 24 frets. The full cutaway allows full access and the neck has a well-executed and functional 'reverse volute' past the 24th fret. This adds to the integrity of the neck and also provides additional sustain. I believe the custom P pickup is a Kent Armstrong design with 10 individual pole pieces. It's a straightforward passive setup with just a volume and tone control. It has a chrome Hipshot Style A bridge and Sperzel locking four-in-line tuners, The bass rings with piano-like clarity and has a look, feel and balance quite similar to an Alembic Essence. It clocks in at 9 1/2 lbs and comes with a fantastic white tolex G&G hard case custom fit inside just for this bass.
