SOLD 03/22! Despite the fact that this is a 'contemporary' guitar it is actually quite scarce, especially in the gloss black finish. It was one of the last models produced at the Westerly, RI factory before it closed down a few years later. Only a few hundred were produced and this one is a hidden gem. It's only 3" thick but has depth and projection like a dreadnaught-sized guitar! The bottom end is amazing and the highs are smooth & silky. The onboard Guild/Fishman preamp offers plenty of tonal flexibility with a 4-band EQ, volume 7 notch controls and a phase switch (which functions almost like a lead/rhythm switch in actual use).
The body is mahogany with a mahogany neck and Brazilian rosewood fretboard and bridge. Of course it has a solid spruce top. The guitar is finished entirely in gloss black lacquer. There is some wear but no major finish checking except in the center just below the bridge. It's in an area just above the bridge bracing and I can assure you that it is cosmetic only. Black shows every flaw and I am going out of my way to describe this minor non-issue. This came in a chip case but I am looking for a better one as I write this.
