Once thought of as a 'budget' alternative to the other basses in the Alembic lineup, this model has justifiably gained a following over the years. It's beauty lies in its simplicity;  it sounds like an Alembic but is a lot more player-friendly. I mean it balances well, has the expected superior electronics but it doesn't weigh 11 lbs and it doesn't draw attention to itself. The shedua top and mahogany body are a fine tone pair and the set maple neck with ebony fretboard has a two-octave range. The Alembic ceramic pickups are paired with a 9-volt preamp with volume, pan, bass & treble. You still get the heavy brass bridge and tailpice, premium tuners and the sterling silver headstock logo. All this & more and it weighs just 8 1/2 lbs, Includes original tolex case with formfit interior.
