One of the all-time classic basses! This one is clean and original the rare trans red finish really shows off the Japanese ash body. It's so clean that there is not a hint of pitting or corrosion on any of the brass hardware. The electronics are 100% original with an 18-volt preamp that is sealed in epoxy and the 6-way tone switch runs the gamut from Duran Duran to Metallica, if you know what I mean. The 5-piece maple/walnut neck has a rosewood fretboard with 24 frets with chrome tuners. Weighs just 10 1/2 lbs and comes in a hard case; I may have an original case lying around but I can't promise anything.

Note: The bass is in pristine condition but there is a shallow crack below the headstock and to the left on the back of the neck. The 2nd owner (who bought it used in the 1980's) assures me it was there when he bought it and has been stable for 35 years. I have no reason to doubt him and I would have passed on the bass if I felt otherwise! I have been playing SB basses since 1979 and will stand behind this one for the life of the bass.
