SOLD 11/19! I can't get enough early G&L basses! This one is about the most well-played example I have ever had with lots of finish wear and marks. The coolest thing is that every fret has almost identical wear! The original owner was as comfortable on the 17th fret and on the 3rd and you can't fake that kind of consistent wear along the entire length of the fretboard. The body is solid mahogany and the tobacco sunburst finish has lots of checking, dents and dings. The pickups have the slot-screw pole pieces and the hardware is all chrome. The tuners are Schaller without the G&L logo so you know it's a really early one. The body and neck are dated April. 1981 and the pots have all have the same 1980 date code (8022). This is a well-balanced 9 3/4 lb bass and really has a big tone, largely doe to the mahogany body. All the electronics work well but the frets will need to be dressed simply because the never have been. Comes with the OHSC with some of the tolex missing but still very solid, a perfect match for the bass!
